How to Open a UCPB CheckStarter Account

Opening your own account is easy!

With a minimum maintaining balance of just ₱1,000 and a few easy requirements, simply go to any UCPB branch to fill out the required forms and bring the following:

For existing individual UCPB accountholders:

  • Any Government-issued IDs:
  • Government-Issued IDs
    • Drivers License
    • Social Security ID Cards:
      • Unified Multi-purpose Identification (UMID) Card
      • Social Security System (SSS) Card
      • Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) Card
    • Tax Identification Number (TIN) ID
    • Passport including those issued by foreign governments
    • Professional IDs:
      • Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) ID
      • Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) ID
    • Other Government IDs:
      • Philhealth ID Card
      • Postal ID
      • Voter’s ID
    • Clearances and Certifications:
      • National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance
      • Police Clearance
      • Barangay Certification
    Optional IDs
    • For Senior Citizens:
      • Senior Citizen Card
    • For OFWs:

    • Other documents that will support client’s need for a checking account
      (e.g. Promissory Note for the approved loan, endorsement letter from lending/financing company)

  • Proof of Address (e.g. latest and original billing statements from utility or credit card companies under the name of the accountholder).
    If under a different name, provide proof of certification of relationship or Barangay Certificate.
  • Any one of the following documents:
    • Endorsement letter from any of the Bank’s existing clients engaged in the lending/financing business
    • Notarized lease contract signed by the Lessor and Lessee
    • Other documents that will support client’s need for a checking account
      (e.g. Promissory Note for the approved loan, endorsement letter from lending/financing company)
Please note that additional IDs or documents may be required by the branch based on the interview during account opening and the type of account to be opened.

Bounced emails and delayed/non-receipt of OTP using Yahoo email addresses

We have received reports from our clients, partners and suppliers of not being able to send/receive emails to/from UCPB using their Yahoo email addresses. There were also reports of delayed and non-receipt of OTP through Yahoo email addresses from Connect and Mobile App users.

As advised by our service provider, this is probably due to Yahoo’s tightened system and security controls which affect dormant and old yahoo accounts which have full and old inbox nearing or exceeding email limit. Read more.
