UCPB brings Financial Wellness Roadshow to Results Manila Silver City
Results Manila employees participated in the Financial Wellness Seminar to learn more on how can they achieve their financial goals.

As part of its campaign in helping the hardworking Filipino achieve financial literacy and wellness, UCPB recently brought its Financial Wellness Roadshow to the employees of Results Manila Inc. Silver City on April 23-24, 2019.

More than 100 employees took part in the activity to gain more tips and insights on how to effectively manage their personal finances through UCPB’s products and services. This is the third Financial Wellness Roadshow for Results Manila employees, after holding the activity in Alaskaland and Q. Plaza Sites. Results Manila is a business process outsourcing service provider specializing in contact center and sales solutions.

The participants learned about the value of saving, investing, insuring their future and achieving their life goals through UCPB’s products and services such as the UCPB VISA Debit Card, UCPB Unit Investment Trust Funds (UITF), UCPB Securities’ MyStocks, Bancassurance products from partners United Coconut Planters Life Assurance Corp, Inc. (COCOLIFE) and UCPB General Insurance Co., Inc. (UCPB GEN), and UCPB LoanEasy. They were also assisted in enrolling their payroll accounts to UCPB Connect for greater convenience in doing online banking transactions such as balance inquiry, bills payment, fund transfers and purchase of phone credits.

The Results Manila employees also participated in the UCPB VISA Debit Card raffle which gave them a chance to win cash prizes for every Point-of Sale purchase using their card in VISA-accredited merchants. Five winners of P1,000 were drawn and a grand prize winner was awarded P5,000.

BSP’s Warning Against the Improper Handling of Philippine Currency

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) warns the public that the willful defacement, mutilation, tearing, burning or destruction of Philippine banknotes and coins are punishable by a fine of not more than PHP20,000.00 and/or imprisonment of not more than five years, under Presidential Decree No. 247. It also states that Philippine “banknotes and coins are issued for circulation as medium of exchange and to utilize them for other purposes does not speak well of the due respect and dignity befitting our currency.”

The following are among the prohibited acts of defacement and/or mutilation of Philippine currency:

writing or putting marks on banknotes;
willful tearing, burning, or destruction, in any manner, of Philippine currency;
willful and excessive folding or crumpling that results in a breakdown of the structure and limpness of the banknote;
willfully causing multiple random folds across the entire banknote that toughly affect its visual appearance; and
willfully exposing banknotes or coins to chemicals or other materials resulting in the acceleration of the defacement, destruction, or natural wear and tear of the note or coin.

The public is also discouraged to staple banknotes and/or use adhesives to put on banknotes and coins as these will compromise their structural integrity.

The BSP encourages the public to report any information on improper handling of Philippine currency to the nearest police station or law enforcement agency, for appropriate action, or contact the Currency Management Sector for assistance at Tel. Nos. 988-4833 and 926-5092.
