Promo Period: October 15, 2018 to January 15, 2019

Promo Mechanics:

  1. The promo will run for three (3) months, from October 15, 2018 to January 15, 2019.
  2. The promo is open to all individual UCPB deposit account holders, consumer loan, treasury and trust clients who will update their records with the Bank through any of the following channels:
  • UCPB’s 188 branches nationwide
  • UCPB’s 10 Consumer Finance Business Centers (CFBCs) nationwide
  • UCPB’s Trust and Treasury desks nationwide
  • Other channels which may be made available
  1. To qualify for the promo, the client should update their information by filling up the Client Information Update Sheet (CIUS) and other related documents in their UCPB maintaining branch or the nearest UCPB Branch. As a minimum requirement, the following contact details must be provided: mobile phone number and email address.
    The client should bring 1 valid photo-bearing ID for proper identification and supporting documents needed for the update such as, but not limited to the following:
  • Billing statement from utilities or credit card companies (for change in address)
  • Marriage Certificate (for change in marital status)
  1. Upon submission and verification of the completed Customer Information Update Sheet and Signature cards to any UCPB branch, Consumer Finance Business Center, Trust and Treasury desk, the client will receive an acknowledgement email not later than 10 banking days upon date of submission.
  2. Each client who will update their information shall be assigned one (1) electronic raffle entry. This will be sent to the client via Email as part of the acknowledgement email.
  3. A client may join this promo only once within the duration of the promo period. Any additional updates made during the promo period will not entitle the client to an additional raffle entry.
  4. Only completely filled-out forms will qualify for the raffle. Incomplete information will result to disqualification.
  5. Employees of UCPB, its affiliates, subsidiaries, their advertising agency, and their relatives up to the second degree of consanguinity or affinity are disqualified from joining the promo.
  6. Eleven winners will be selected during the grand raffle, one from each of the Bank’s eleven Branch Banking Group (BBG) regions, namely:
  • Metro Manila 1 Region
  • Metro Manila 2 Region
  • Metro Manila 3 Region
  • Metro Manila 4 Region
  • Metro Manila 5 Region
  • Metro Manila 6 Region
  • Metro Manila 7 Region
  • South Luzon Region
  • North and Central Luzon Region
  • Visayas Region
  • Mindanao Region
  1. Consumer, Treasury and Trust clients will be grouped under Metro Manila 7 Region.
  2. All winners will receive Php10,000 as the prize. The cash prize will be credited to the winner’s UCPB Account upon verification. The 20% prize tax shall be shouldered by UCPB.
  3. The electronic raffle draw through "True Random Generator" program of www.random.org will be held on January 22, 2019 at the UCPB Corporate Offices, 7907 Makati Avenue, Makati City with the presence of a DTI representative.
  4. Winners shall be announced online through UCPB’s corporate website. Winners will also be notified via SMS, email and registered mail based on the accountholder’s contact details in UCPB’s records.
  5. The winners authorize UCPB to disclose and publish their names, photos and other particular determined by UCPB to any person/s and in any mode or manner as UCPB may deem appropriate.
  6. All matters and disputes will be subject to the final decision made by UCPB pertaining to the promo, will be deemed final and irrevocable, with prior concurrence to DTI.

BSP’s Warning Against the Improper Handling of Philippine Currency

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) warns the public that the willful defacement, mutilation, tearing, burning or destruction of Philippine banknotes and coins are punishable by a fine of not more than PHP20,000.00 and/or imprisonment of not more than five years, under Presidential Decree No. 247. It also states that Philippine “banknotes and coins are issued for circulation as medium of exchange and to utilize them for other purposes does not speak well of the due respect and dignity befitting our currency.”

The following are among the prohibited acts of defacement and/or mutilation of Philippine currency:

writing or putting marks on banknotes;
willful tearing, burning, or destruction, in any manner, of Philippine currency;
willful and excessive folding or crumpling that results in a breakdown of the structure and limpness of the banknote;
willfully causing multiple random folds across the entire banknote that toughly affect its visual appearance; and
willfully exposing banknotes or coins to chemicals or other materials resulting in the acceleration of the defacement, destruction, or natural wear and tear of the note or coin.

The public is also discouraged to staple banknotes and/or use adhesives to put on banknotes and coins as these will compromise their structural integrity.

The BSP encourages the public to report any information on improper handling of Philippine currency to the nearest police station or law enforcement agency, for appropriate action, or contact the Currency Management Sector for assistance at Tel. Nos. 988-4833 and 926-5092.
